We are currently looking for a Coating QC Engineer to join our Coating Department at the Maasvlakte, the Netherlands.

We are currently looking for a Coating QC Engineer to join our Coating Department at the Maasvlakte, the Netherlands. The coating department is in expansion and it will comprise a team of QC inspectors, QC engineer and coating engineers. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out  FAT (factory acceptance test) and general monitoring inspections on monopiles in accordance with agreed specifications. Inspections are carried out internally or on location at the relevant supplier. You will possess the technical/engineering background to handle the day-to-day issues with coating quality. Through progress reports the status of the deliveries are objectively monitored. Deviations are registered by an NCR report, actions are set and followed up conscientiously. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards. In this role, you will report to the Senior Coating Engineer. As a Coating QC engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • creating and maintaining company documentation, such as quality manuals and procedures
  • ensuring that control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained
  • coordinating, planning and carrying out specific inspections with clients including FAT (factory acceptance testing)
  • identifying root causes and instigating permanent corrective actions for product quality issues
  • following up on inspection and NCR reports
  • issuing release notes for the approval and shipment of products
  • maintaining and controlling calibration records for all test and inspection equipment
  • being the point of contact for questions about quality-related issues.
  • Maintain updated progress reports
  • · Manage QC inspectors. This will also include administration of timesheets and invoices.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone who can get things done and communicates effectively. You will be proactive and quality-oriented. You will have a flexible attitude (no 9-5 mentality) and always try to prevent problems from happening in the first place, instead of having to solve them afterwards. In addition, to be eligible for the position of Quality Engineer, you must have:

  • a senior secondary level of education (MBO) an/or a higher vocational education (HBO), preferably in materials or chemical engineering
  • an understanding of engineering drawings
  • strong investigative and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • an ability to think logically and methodically
  • excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • the ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
  • a talent for planning and prioritizing activities
  • strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • the ability to present data effectively
  • effective teamworking skills 
  • excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, and AX system
  • fluency in English (written and verbal)
  • a VCA certificate (or be willing to obtain this).
